Harvey Weinstein Handcuffed & Taken to Jail, Bail Denied

Harvey Weinstein was immediately placed into handcuffs by police and taken to jail on Monday (February 24) in New York City, minutes after being convicted guilty of rape.

Weinstein was immediately handcuffed and transported to jail following his conviction,” the New York Times reports.

His lawyer, Donna Rotunno, requested he be placed on house arrest, citing “letters from his doctor,” because he “was found not guilty of the most serious charges he was charged with.”

He was found guilty of rape and criminal sexual acts. He was found not guilty of sexual predatory assault.

The judge did not agree with Weinstein‘s lawyer. He will be formally sentenced on March 11 and he is appealing the conviction. He will spent anywhere from five to over 25 years in prison for his crimes.
