'Lord of the Rings' Amazon Series Finds Lead in Maxim Baldry

Maxim Baldry has snagged a lead role in Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings series!

The 24-year-old British Years and Years actor was first linked to the show last fall but didn’t have an official deal, which is why he wasn’t included in the cast announcement in January, Deadline reports.

Maxim joins cast members Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman.

The adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels has already has been renewed for a second season, before the start of season one production in New Zealand.

Taking place in Middle-earth, the series will feature new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring.”
