Twitter Is Testing a New Feature Calls 'Fleets'

Twitter will begin testing a brand new feature they are calling “fleets” – aka tweets that will be published for 24 hours similar to Snapchat posts and Instagram Stories.

The name is an homage to the phrase “fleeting thoughts.” Users will not be able to retweet, like, or publicly comment on “fleets.”

“One of the unique things about Twitter is that ‘what’s happening’ is fueled by people sharing their thoughts openly, through Tweets. But sharing your thoughts publicly can be intimidating!” Twitter product lead Kayvon Beykpour said. “We’ve been listening to this feedback and working to create new capabilities that address some of the anxieties that hold people back from talking on Twitter.”

Fleets will begin being tested in Brazil. And if you’re curious if Twitter will ever have an edit button…here’s your answer.
