'Grey's Anatomy' Reveals Fate of Justin Chambers' Alex & We're Shook (Spoilers)

We’ve known for a while now that Justin Chambers‘ character Alex Karev would not be returning to Grey’s Anatomy, but we only just found out the fate of the character and we’re completely shook.

Justin‘s final appearance on the show was in November 2019, but he made a voice cameo in the March 5 episode titled “Leave a Light On” to wrap up his storyline.

Back in that November episode, Alex returned home to Iowa to take care of his mom, leaving his wife Jo (Camilla Luddington) behind in Seattle.

Alex wrote letters to Jo, Meredith, and Bailey, which he read aloud during the March 5 episode and these letters revealed his fate.

Alex has reconnected with his ex-wife Izzie, played by Katherine Heigl, and he learned that she secretly gave birth to their twins Eli and Alexis ten years ago. They have been living on a farm in Kansas and Alex decided to stay with them after going for a visit.

The Grey’s showrunner recently opened up about how she was going to handle Alex’s departure from the show.
