The Burnt Orange Heresy's Claes Bang Explains How He Recently Became 'Greedy' in Hollywood

The actors were joined at the event by director Giuseppe Capotondi. The screening took place at the Roxy Cinema and the evening continued with a party at the New York Academy of Art.

Claes recently opened up about how starring in the 2017 Cannes Film Festival‘s Palme D’or winner The Square changed his career and let him become “greedy” in Hollywood.

“My god, The Square opened up so many doors for me,” Claes said in a recent interview. “I owe that film and [director] Ruben Östlund everything. I guess I have to be honest and just say I’ve been super greedy. And everything that’s been presented to me that I thought was interesting, I’ve really tried to fit it all in.”

“It’s this, obviously when a film wins in Cannes, everybody sees it, the whole business sees it,” he added. “And they’re sitting there, and they’re watching this guy they’ve never seen him before. I’ve got a good playing age, and my English is good, I pass for English people. And that sort of materialized itself in the sense that all of a sudden I got like two, three scripts a week, and as I just said, I just got really greedy. I mean, you know this business, it’s like it might be over before it’s even started, so I was going to make the most of it all these opportunities.”

The Burnt Orange Heresy is now in theaters.
