Tekashi 6ix9ine's Prison Release Date Has Been Revealed

Tekashi 6ix9ine will be released from prison this summer and his release date has been set.

The 23-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was sentence to 24 months in prison fro crimes relating to his time with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

Tekashi was facing 47 years to life, but he was a cooperating witness and testified against two members of the gang, so he received a much lighter sentence.

The sentencing happened in December 2019, but Tekashi had already served 13 months at that point and he only has to serve 85 percent of the remaining time. He will be getting out of jail on August 2.

“[W]e can confirm, Inmate Hernandez has a projected release date of August 2, 2020,” a spokesperson from the Bureau of Prisons’ Public Affairs department told Complex.
