'Riverdale' Suspends Production Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Riverdale has shut down production as coronavirus keeps spreading, Variety reports.

The popular CW show was shut down after a crew member came into contact with a person who had contracted the virus.

“The team member is currently receiving medical evaluation,” Warner Bros. TV shared with the site in a statement.

The statement continues, “We are working closely with the appropriate authorities and health agencies in Vancouver to identify and contact all individuals who may have come into direct contact with our team member.”

“The health and safety of our employees, casts and crews is always our top priority. We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world.”

Riverdale, starring KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, and Camila Mendes, airs Wednesdays on The CW.

The show is just the latest in suspending production. Survivor and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier also halted production this week.
