Orlando Bloom Was Celibate for Six Months Before Meeting Katy Perry

Orlando Bloom is opening up about life before Katy Perry.

In a new interview The Sunday Times, the 43-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor revealed that he was celibate for six months before meeting the 35-year-old singer in 2016.

Orlando said he took the recommendation from friend, surfer Laird Hamilton, after he admitted he “wasn’t happy” in early 2016.

“If you want to be serious about a relationship, go celibate for a few months and figure it out,” Orlando recalled his friend suggesting.

“I was going to do three months, but I was really enjoying the way I was relating to women, and to the feminine within myself,” Orlando said.

During the interview Orlando was asked if he looked at pornography as a substitute for sex, but Orlando made it clear he did “completely nothing” at the time.

“It was insane,” Orlando said. “I don’t think it’s healthy. I don’t think it was advisable. You have to keep it moving down there.”

After meeting Katy at the 2016 Golden Globes, Orlando said they “hung out and connected” and his celibacy came to an end.

Orlando and Katy dated on and off for a few years before getting engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.

Katy just recently revealed that she and Orlando are expecting their first child together!
