Stuart Whitman Dead - Oscar-Nominated Actor Dies at 92

Stuart Whitman has sadly passed away at the age of 92.

The Oscar-nominated actor died while surrounded by family at his home on Monday morning (March 16) in Montecito, Calif., TMZ reports.

Stuart had reportedly been to the hospital multiple times recently due to skin cancer that had entered his bloodstream.

Stuart has over 150 credits, but he was most known for starring in westerns, especially alongside John Wayne, such as in their 1961 film The Comancheros.

“Old Hollywood lost another one of its true stars,” his son Justin told the outlet. “Stuart Whitman was known for his rugged roles and handsome charm. We were proud of him for his tv, film roles and his Oscar nomination, but what we will really remember is his exuberant love of his family and friends.”

Stuart also starred on TV’s Cimarron Strip and received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his work in The Mark. His last credit was for the 2000 TV movie The President’s Man with Chuck Norris.

Stuart was married three times and is survived by five children.
