China Is Going to Screen 'Harry Potter' in Effort to Revive Cinemas Amid Coronavirus Crisis

Harry Potter is coming to the rescue at movie theaters everywhere in China.

A 3D, 4K restoration of Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone will hit Chinese cinemas in an attempt to win back audiences after weeks of coronavirus closures, according to Warner Bros. on Thursday (March 19).

The studio announced the news with a new illustrated poster, featuring Hedwig “swooping in with Harry’s acceptance letter addressed in green ink, accompanied by the tagline: ‘Magic is coming.’”

No release date has been announced just yet, although Maoyan, a ticketing app, has it set for April 30.
