Donald Trump Wants to See the US 'Opened Up By Easter'

Donald Trump is hoping for the United States to be “opened up and just raring to go by Easter” (April 12) amid the current health crisis, despite warnings from health experts.

The 73-year-old U.S. president opened up during a Fox News town hall on Tuesday (March 24).

“I give it two weeks,” he said (via CNN). “I guess by Monday or Tuesday, it’s about two weeks. We will assess at that time and give it more time if we need a little more time. We have to open this country up.”

Meanwhile, New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has just revealed that the state is expecting lots of new coronavirus cases in the next two to three weeks.

“So, I think Easter Sunday, and you’ll have packed churches all over our country,” Donald Trump added in a different Fox News interview that same day. “I think it would be a beautiful time. And it’s just about the timeline that I think is right.”

“It gives us more chance to work on what we’re doing, and I’m not sure that’s going to be the day, but I would love to aim it right at Easter Sunday, so we’re open for church service and services generally on Easter Sunday,” he continued. “That would be a beautiful thing.”

ICYMI, a man died and his wife is in critical care after they ingested a drug they thought Donald Trump said was a coronavirus treatment.
