Tekashi 6ix9ine is home and currently under house arrest after being released from prison early due to the current health crisis facing the globe.

The 23-year-old rapper suffers from chronic asthma and this makes him more vulnerable to the disease spreading around, so he was released early.

“He’s out and he’s very happy to be released,” defense attorney Lance Lazzaro told NBC News.

Tekashi was serving a two-year sentence after he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of racketeering, firearms offenses and drug trafficking. He will serve the final four months of his sentence under house arrest.

Tekashi is not showing any symptoms of the virus, but his lawyer expects him to be tested once “it becomes readily available.”
