Broadway Shows Will Remain Closed Through June 7

Broadway shows will remain closed through at least June 7, 2020.

“Our top priority continues to be the health and well-being of Broadway theatregoers and the thousands of people who work in the theatre industry every day, including actors, musicians, stagehands, ushers, and many other dedicated professionals.” Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, told Deadline. “Broadway will always be at the very heart of the Big Apple, and we join with artists, theatre professionals, and fans in looking forward to the time when we can once again experience live theatre together.”

Broadway shut down on March 12 due to the global health crisis and “incremental extensions are possible into the summer.”

June 7 was supposed to be the date of the 2020 Tonys, which have also been postponed.

Ticketholders in the shut-down timeframe will receive refunds or exchanges in the coming weeks.
