Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8, the next two chapters of the franchise, were originally due out July 21, 2021 and August 5, 2022. They will now be released November 19, 2021 and November 4, 2022.

Production on the seventh movie was halted in Italy amid the coronavirus crisis, resulting in “a chance the latest tentpole in the globe-trotting spy series wouldn’t have been completed in time for its original release.”
