Rooney Mara Writes Op-Ed With Joaquin Phoenix on Wet Markets

The 35-year-old actress was seen holding on to a phone while listening to something on it, and wearing an oversized chambray shirt and workout pants.

Rooney recently teamed up with longtime partner, Joaquin Phoenix to write an op-ed about wet markets in North America.

“The unsanitary living conditions inside CAFOS weaken animals’ immune systems and increase their susceptibility to infection and disease. The factory farms’ response has been to pump the animals full of antibiotics that make their way into our food supply and onto our dinner plates, systematically fostering in humans a lethal resistance to the medicines that once quelled everyday infections,” the two wrote in the article, posted to Washington Post.

It continued that “such practices have brought humanity to the point that the WHO now estimates that more than half of all human diseases emanate from animals.”

Rooney and Joaquin were recently spotted out together last month.
