Sean Penn's Nonprofit CORE Is Expanding Free Coronavirus Testing Sites

Sean Penn pulls on the sides of his mask after picking up some items from a local eatery in Los Angeles over the weekend.

It was just announced that CORE, the nonprofit organization founded by the 59-year-old actor, will be expanding its’ free testing sites for coronavirus into Detroit, New Orleans, and Atlanta.

“This is right now an active shooter scenario, the virus is. And its principal focus is on people of color, the elderly, the indigenous,” Sean shared with CBS This Morning. “But it doesn’t really care who else is in the way.”

He continued about the expansion into the three major cities in other states, “Our biggest ambition is to be the, or one of the, models that’s replicable. This is not like building a business where you have ambitions of being number one. The idea is to, as quickly as possible, be a loud, visible example of what others can do.”

“We need a really accurate picture of how much testing is happening nationally,” Sean added.

Just recently, Sean was pictured getting a coronavirus test himself at one of the sites in LA.
