Kate Middleton Launches Photography Project To Show What Coronavirus Life Is Like for UK Citizens

Kate Middleton is launching a project that’s very close to her heart during the quarantine from the coronavirus pandemic.

The 38-year-old Duchess of Cambridge revealed that she’ll be spearheading a photography project that will capture the feelings of everyone across the United Kingdom.

Kate has collaborated with the National Portrait Gallery for the project, which will display the photos sent to the project in the “Hold Still” exhibition later this summer.

“We’ve all been struck by some of the incredible images we’ve seen which have given us an insight into the experiences and stories of people across the country,” Kate shared in a statement. “Some desperately sad images showing the human tragedy of this pandemic and other uplifting pictures showing people coming together to support those more vulnerable.”

She continues, “’Hold Still’ aims to capture a portrait of the nation, the spirit of the nation, what everyone is going through at this time. Photographs reflecting resilience, bravery, kindness – all those things that people are experiencing.”

The project is completely free and open to all ages and abilities to UK citizens, and the images can be captured on phones or cameras and each image will be assessed on the emotion and experience it conveys rather than its photographic quality or technical expertise.

“Hold Still” will focus on three core themes: Helpers and Heroes; Your New Normal; and Acts of Kindness.

Kate recently has taken photos of her children – Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – during the quarantine that could qualify for the categories, too.
