Jimmy Fallon Releases Apology For Past SNL Skit He Did in Blackface in 2000

Jimmy Fallon has issued an apology for his actions about a 20-year-old skit he performed on Saturday Night Live in blackface.

The 45-year-old Tonight Show host took to social media to share his regrets to fans and viewers, which many had started a #JimmyFallonIsOverParty on Twitter over the holiday weekend.

“In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface. There is no excuse for this,” Jimmy wrote.

He continued, “I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.”

The skit in questioned was performed in 2000 and Jimmy was impersonating comic Chris Rock on Regis Philbin‘s talk show.

This other high profile guy was also called out for a past incident where he also wore blackface.
