Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Remember COVID-19 Victims With Moment of Silence

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain step out for a memorial event to honor COVID-19 victims at the Zarzuela Palace on Wednesday (May 27) in Madrid, Spain.

The two Spanish monarchs gathered with their daughters, Leonor, Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia for the somber event.

The reigning family observed a moment of silence for all those who have died from the deadly pandemic.

Early on, Letizia and Felipe were both tested for the coronavirus after she came into contact with someone who had tested positive. They both were negative for the virus.

The King and Queen kept on working from inside their residence during the country’s stay at home orders and together, with the Cortes Generales, have opted to reopen parts of the country again earlier this month.
