OlderEveryone Is Outraged After Buffalo Police Shoved an Elderly Man to the Ground, Causing Him to Bleed
People are speaking out on social media after a video from Buffalo, New York has gone viral. Police officers can be seen shoving an elderly man to the ground, causing him to bleed from the head.
The incident happened outside of the City Hall building shortly after the city’s curfew began on Thursday night (June 4). The man can be seen approaching the officers and as they told him to move back, one of them pushed him and the man stumbled and fell to the ground.
An officer tried to bend down and provide assistance while the man bled out from the head, but then another officer pulled him away.
Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz has commented on the incident and said, “I’ve seen videos of the incident in front of Buffalo’s City Hall in which an older protester appears to have been shoved by police, fell backwards and suffered a serious head injury. It sickens me. I’ve confirmed he is at ECMC in stable condition. My thoughts are with him now.” The video, via WBFO, can be seen below.
UPDATE: It has been reported that the two officers who were involved in the shoving have been suspended.
