MTV Cuts Ties With 'Challenge' Star Dee Nguyen After Racist Remarks; She Issues An Apology

MTV has cut their relationship with Dee Nguyen, following her remarks on the Black Lives Matter movement over the weekend.

Dee, a star on the new season of The Challenge, was put on blast for a tweet she shared over the weekend, in which she tried to defend her support of Black Lives Matter.

“IDK why some of you think I’m anti-BLM. I’ve been saying that since the day I lost my virginity,” the now-deleted post read.

“As a result of Dee Nguyen’s offensive comments on the Black Lives Matter movement, we have severed ties with her,” MTV’s statement on the matter read on social media. “Out of respect for our Challengers, we’ll air our season as planned. We strongly condemn systemic racism and stand with those raising their voices against injustice.”

Some of Dee‘s co-stars also revealed things she had said in the past about Black people, which sparked Dee to issue two apologies for her actions.

“I am sorry for the insensitive tweet I posted earlier. I was being defensive and not speaking from my heart. But there’s no excuse,” she wrote on Twitter. “I also want to extend an apology to Bayleigh and Swaggy- who are my cast mates and deserve my respect and compassion.”

Dee later added a lengthier apology on Instagram. Read it below now!

These other reality stars just got fired for their past racist actions, too.
