Publicist Nanci Ryder Has Died at 67 After a Battle with ALS

Nanci Ryder, the co-founder of BWR Public Relations, has died at the age of 67 following a battle with ALS.

Ryder is credited as being one of Hollywood’s first power publicists and she represented such stars as Renee Zellweger, Reese Witherspoon, Courteney Cox, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Terrence Howard, and many more throughout her more than 30 years in the business.

Nanci died at her Los Angeles home at 2:24pm on Thursday (June 11), her longtime friend Bryan Lourd confirmed to THR.

Back in 2014, Nanci was diagnosed with ALS and she rallied her Hollywood friends to join her fight to find a cure for the disease. You can see many photos of them attending the ALS Walk together over the years in the photo gallery.
