Kanye West Drops Out of 2020 Presidential Race? (Report)

UPDATE: TMZ reported on Wednesday (July 15) that Kanye is still making the necessary moves to run, and has filed with the Federal Election Commission under the Birthday Party. He has yet to fill out Form 2, Statement of Candidacy, which shows he’s raised or spent more than $5,000 in campaign activity. The outlet adds that sources tell them Kanye is in the middle of a “very serious bipolar episode through all of this,” and family and loved ones are worried.

ORIGINAL POST: Kanye West is apparently already done with his presidential run.

The 43-year-old rapper has reportedly withdrawn from the 2020 U.S. presidential race less than two weeks after announcing his plans to run, according to New York Magazine‘s Intelligencer.

A member of his campaign team, Steve Kramer, who had been hired to help Kanye get on the ballot in Florida and South Carolina, has reportedly told the outlet that he will no longer run.

“He’s out,” Steve said.

When asked to elaborate on what happened, he said: “I’ll let you know what I know once I get all our stuff canceled. We had over 180 people out there today.”

“I have nothing good or bad to say about Kanye. Everyone has their personal decision about why they make decisions. Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to actually contemplate at that level…any candidate running for president for the first time goes through these hiccups,” he also said.

Kramer noted that the staff he had hired were disappointed not just because they would be out of a job, but because they were excited about what a Kanye West campaign represented,” the outlet reported.

It’s also worth noting that the deadline to get on the ballot in Nevada recently passed.

Kanye‘s family reportedly is worried that he is struggling with this…
