Walt Disney World Will Reportedly Close These Rides Permanently

Walt Disney World is open again amid the pandemic, but some of its rides and attractions won’t be in it for the long haul much longer.

The Disney theme park is shutting down Primeval Whirl and the Rivers of Light show at Animal Kingdom and Stitch’s Great Escape at Magic Kingdom, according to a new report on Thursday (July 16).

Stitch’s Great Escape has already been “temporarily closed” for a while, and has been rumored to being replaced with a Wreck-It Ralph attraction in the future.

The Rivers of Light show is one of many nighttime spectaculars that are on hold due to the pandemic, but will actually not return at all.

Though Disney Parks has not officially revealed the news, reporter Scott Gustin says that he has confirmed with the company.

“Just FYI – I confirmed the news with Disney. I have not seen the memo that apparently went out to Cast Members, but I assume it does not include any additional information,” he tweeted.

If you didn’t know, a representative for Walt Disney World announced on Wednesday (July 15) that they’ll be pushing back their Mary Poppins-inspired ride that was planned to arrive at Epcot’s World Showcase, as well as the update to Epcot’s classic Spaceship Earth, in Future World, amid the pandemic.

In case you missed it, this very popular ride is getting a redesign at the U.S. parks, Disneyland and Walt Disney World!
