'Mulan' Set to Hit Disney+ & Select Theaters in September

Walt Disney Pictures have just announced that their upcoming live action film, Mulan, will be premiering in September in both theaters and on Disney+.

According to the release, the upcoming film, which stars Yifei Liu as the title character, will be available to watch on the streaming service for $29.99, starting on September 4.

In territories where Disney+ is not available, Mulan will be available in theaters.

“Despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, we’ve continued to build on the incredible success of Disney+ as we grow our global direct-to-consumer businesses,” Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Chapek said in a statement. “The global reach of our full portfolio of direct-to-consumer services now exceeds an astounding 100 million paid subscriptions — a significant milestone and a reaffirmation of our DTC strategy, which we view as key to the future growth of our company.”

Mulan was originally set to hit the big screen on March 27, but has been pushed back many times before being pulled off the schedule due to the pandemic.

Disney unveiled more release dates for their upcoming films, as well. See the full list here…
