'Tiger King' Zoo Is Officially Closed According to Reports

The zoological park featured in Netflix‘s wildly popular Tiger King documentary has been officially closed, Variety is reporting.

Fans will be disappointed to find out that The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park will not be welcoming visitors anytime soon, but instead, be converted into a production set.

Owner Jeff Lowe revealed the news in a Facebook post, which has since been deleted, adding that he no longer has his exhibitor’s license which allowed him to buy and sell animals.

“The very agency that has given my facility five consecutive perfect inspections, has now folded to the pressures of PETA and continue to make false accusations against me,” he wrote.

Jeff does own another property in Thackerville, Oklahoma, which will serve as a production set for future Tiger King related television content for cable and streaming services.

As far as the big cats that were housed at the park, Jeff added that they will “continue to have excellent care, and consequently will no longer be subject to USDA inspections or PETA spies.”

It was just recently reported that conservationist, and Joe Exotic‘s rival, Carole Baskin was awarded ownership of the park.
