NBA Playoff Games Postponed Due to Jacob Blake Shooting

The Milwaukee Bucks are not playing tonight (August 26) in protest of police brutality, and as a result, the playoff games are being postponed.

The NBA basketball team confirmed that they would not play their playoff game on Wednesday afternoon in protest of the recent police shooting of Jacob Blake.

“The Milwaukee Bucks have decided to boycott Game 5, source tells ESPN,” Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

“The Bucks players made this decision in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting in Wisconsin, ultimately deciding that they wouldn’t leave the locker room for the start of Game 5 against Orlando.”

The Bucks were scheduled to play against the Orlando Magic in Game 5 of the first round of the NBA playoffs. Magic players and referees were on the floor for the game, but Milwaukee never arrived to the floor. Everyone then left the floor. The Bucks are currently leading the series 3-1. Other NBA teams have discussed boycotting their playoff games.

“In light of the Milwaukee Bucks’ decision to not take the floor today for Game 5 against the Orlando Magic, today’s three games…have been postponed. Game 5 of each series will be rescheduled,” the NBA then announced.
