CEO Kevin Mayer Exits TikTok After Less Than Three Months

TikTok is going through another major shakeup.

Just three months after he signed on as CEO, Kevin Mayer is leaving the company.

“In recent weeks, as the political environment has sharply changed, I have done significant reflection on what the corporate structural changes will require, and what it means for the global role I signed up for,” Kevin shared in his letter to staff announcing his resignation.

He added, “Against this backdrop, and as we expect to reach a resolution very soon, it is with a heavy heart that I wanted to let you all know that I have decided to leave the company.”

Kevin‘s resignation comes just after President Donald Trump forced the company to take legal action the Trump Administration, following his threats of banning the app in the United States.

TikTok issued a statement in response, saying that they appreciate “that the political dynamics of the last few months have significantly changed what the scope of Kevin’s role would be going forward, and fully respect his decision. We thank him for his time at the company and wish him well.”

If you didn’t see, Trump declared a national emergency over the app earlier this month.
