Bella Thorne Apologizes to OnlyFans Users After Being Blamed for New Policies That Hurt Sex Workers

Bella Thorne is apologizing to the content creators on OnlyFans after they blamed her for the site’s new policies, which are hurting them in the long run.

The 22-year-old actress joined the subscription-based social media platform last week to start sharing content with her fans and she quickly broke the record for the most earnings in one week.

The site is most known for the adult content that is shared by content creators, though Bella has said she will not be posting nudity on her page. A few days ago, a screencap started spreading around social media and it claimed that the actress was charging $200 for a naked photo. Then, people were saying that fans demanded refunds after being “scammed” into buying the photos. Bella says the screencap was falsified.

After that screencap went viral, OnlyFans set a new limit on the price that creators can charge for pay-per-view content and they can only charge up to $50 now. Also, a limit has been set on tipping and no user can tip more than $100 with these new policies. People are also saying that vendors used to have the ability to get payment from the site within seven days, but now some international creators say they have to wait 30 days.

Bella took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon (August 29) to explain that she went on OnlyFans with the best of intentions and that she’s going to talk to the company to make things right.

“I wanted to bring attention to the site, the more people on the site the more likely of a chance to normalize the stigmas, And in trying to do this I hurt you. I have risked my career a few times to remove the stigma behind sex work, porn, and the natural hatred people spew behind anything sex related. I wrote and directed a porn against the high brows of my peers and managers because I WANTED to help with the stigma behind sex,” Bella said. “I am a mainstream face and when you have a voice, a platform, you try to use you in helping others and advocate for something bigger than yourself. Again in this process I hurt you and for that I’m truly sorry.”

She added, “Ps. I’m meeting with only fans about the new restrictions to find out why!!! This is f–ked up and I’m sorry comment any ideas or concerns you want brought up to OF!! and send me your links and a pic so I can promote you guys.”
