Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Returns To Air Ambulance Which Helped Save Her From Pregnancy Emergency

Sophie, Countess of Wessex poses inside one of the helicopters during her important visit at Thames Valley Air Ambulance at White Waltham Airfield on Thursday (September 3) in Maidenhead, England.

The 55-year-old British royal and wife of Prince Edward visited the airfield to help launch their 21st anniversary celebrations of the WVAA ahead of National Air Ambulance Week.

The visit is significant for Sophie, who in 2001, had to be airlifted by the ambulance service when she suffered a life-threatening emergency.

She had suffered an eptopic pregnancy, which required her to be airlifted to the nearest hospital facility for treatment.

Sophie and Edward now have two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, who were born in 2003 and 2007.

If you didn’t see, find out why Louise and James most likely won’t use their courtesy royal titles here…
