Tennis Star Boris Becker Is Facing Seven Years In Jail

Boris Becker wears a “Stronger Together” face mask while leaving the Westminster Magistrates Court in London, England on Thursday (September 24).

The 52-year-old tennis player is facing up to seven years in jail over “failing to cooperate with bankruptcy proceedings.”

During his hearing this week, Boris, a three-time Wimbledon champion, pleaded not guilty to the 19 charges against him.

“He has been charged with eight counts of concealment of property, five of failure to disclose property, four of material omissions in relation to bank accounts, and two of removal of property,” a spokesperson for the UK Insolvency Service shared about the charges, according to People.

The charges directly relate to Boris‘ alleged ownership of a property in Chelsea, as well as two additional properties in Germany.

There are also claims that Boris hid bank accounts with JP Morgan in Belgium, Julius Baer in Guernsey and Volksbank Kraichgau in Germany from UK officials, during the time he was legally obligated to report those financial details as part of the bankruptcy deal.

He is also accused of hiding close to $1 million in debt, plus 75,000 shares in the Artificial Intelligence company Breaking Data Corp.
