'Wicked' Movie Director Stephen Daldry Exits Project - Here's Why

The Wicked movie has just lost its director.

Stephen Daldry was supposed to direct the movie musical but has stepped away from the project, Deadline is reporting. The reason that is being given is pandemic related.

There are a few things that went down including the studio wanted to make the movie quicker than Stephen was comfortable doing. Another reason being that Stephen wanted to film in London and that is apparently no longer possible.

The exit was apparently amicable.

The Wicked movie has not had great luck so far, and was originally supposed to be released in 2019. Find out the latest release date news.
