Jennifer Garner Reveals Which Co-Star Stopped Her From Quitting 'Dallas Buyers Club'

Jennifer Garner is looking back on her role in Dallas Buyers Club.

During a new interview with Tell Me More with Kelly Corrigan, the 48-year-old actress revealed that she was very close to quitting the movie.

Jennifer explained that she had just given birth to her son Samuel, now 8, when her agent encouraged her to take the role in the 2013 movie because she had “taken so much time” away from acting to focus on her family.

“So I took it, and that was why” Jennifer recalled. “Because it was time for me to go back to work.”

However, Jennifer was still breastfeeding at the time of filming, and the production’s schedule made it difficult to pump because “there was never a 10-minute break.”

“My boobs were freaking out,” Jennifer shared. “It was bedtime, and we were doing some scene that was supposed to be light, and I started crying and I was like, ‘I have to quit. I have to go home and be with my kids. I just can’t do this anymore.’”

At that moment, the movie’s star Matthew McConaughey stepped in to save the day.

“And sweet Matthew McConaughey pulled me aside and said, ‘What is going on with you?’” Jennifer remembered, before saying that the 50-year-old Oscar winner then asked the crew to take a break so that she could pump in private.

And from then on, whenever I needed to, I would give him a high sign and I would go take care of it,” Jennifer shared. “He said, ‘You can do both. You’ve got it. You can do it.’”

If you missed it, Jennifer addressed speculation that she was pregnant again.
