Producer Jennifer Klein's Star-Studded Day of Indulgence Was Rebranded & Transformed Into an Event Perfect for 2020

The annual Day of Indulgence, which is hosted by producer Jennifer Klein, takes place every year in August, but plans changed this year due to the pandemic.

Jennifer figured out a way to safely host the event and she rebranded it as the Day of Indulgence, Gratitude, and Wellness. All of the brands that participated in the event donated to an organization assisting in COVID-19 relief, voting initiatives, or mental health awareness.

To make sure that there were a limited number of people in attendance at all times to ensure social distancing, guests arrived in timed shifts and were required to wear masks at all times. Temperatures were taken upon arrival and guests washed their hands at a Mrs. Meyer’s hand washing station. There were also Touchland Kub hand sanitizing dispensers throughout the venue.

The event was held on Sunday (October 25) in the Los Angeles area and guests included Sarah Hyland, Tyra Banks, Katharine McPhee, Sophia Bush, Melissa Benoist, Nicole Scherzinger, Laura Harrier, Rebel Wilson, Hilary Swank, Cobie Smulders, Good Girls co-stars Christina Hendricks and Retta, Leslie Mann and daughter Iris Apatow, and many, many more.

Christina told InStyle, “When Jennifer said she was going to do this, I said, ‘that’s a feat,’ but I knew that she was going to do it responsibly. So I just thought, if you’re going to do it, this would be a place where people are going to be respectful. It really is nice to have a little bit of normalcy, especially when we’re about to go back to work and come out of our bubbles, come out of our shells.”

As always, the guests went home with a Samsonite suitcase (a rose gold one this time!) that was filled with skincare items, makeup, wellness products, hair care products, masks, and more. Each guest also received a LeSportsac weekender bag filled with items personalized just for her, including Spanx leather leggings, masks from Cosabella, a Madewell foldover tote, and a Foreo.

Cynthia Erivo was unable to attend the event as she’s in Atlanta filming Genius: Aretha, so she was there virtually and had a great chat with the founder of 54 Thrones, an African beauty brand inspired by the richness, diversity, and cultures of the continent and its people.

In between checking out all the stations at the event, guests also indulged in treatments like massages from EO and Fresh, as well as Patchology’s Best Foot Forward feet treatments. Since everyone was wearing masks, it was all about the eyes and guests were given Skin Medica Instant Bright eye masks and AMOREPACIFIC eye treatments.

Instead of the usual salad bar, pre-packaged sandwiches and salads from Ggiata were available and guests ate them all up! Fall-themed drinks were served including pumpkin spice spun shakes from Shake Shack and an autumn drink called Harvest Spice, which guests all took home in DIY kits to make the drink at home. Some of the yummy treats that guests enjoy included Baked by Melissa macarons, Sidecar doughnuts, barkTHINS snacking chocolate, Brookside chocolate, Clio Greek yogurt bars, and Pipcorn mini popcorn.

Servers walked around the event with trays of mini Don Julio margarita, canned Babe Wine, mini Le Grand Courtage champagne bottles, Suja Wellness shots, and Humblemaker Coffee Company coffee shots. Guests stayed hydrated with Essentia Water, Taja coconut-infused water, Recess hemp infused water, Spindrift sparkling water, Health-Ade Kombucha’s new Health-Ade Plus and Booch Pop, and Hubble, the healthy bubble drink.

Jennifer always makes sure to decorate to perfection and Flowermaid’s fall-themed flowers were placed around her home and Alora Ambiance and Rituals products made the house smell great.
