Carly Pearce's CMA Awards Performance Was Pre-Taped, So Charles Kelley Will Still Appear
Carly Pearce looks gorgeous in green on the red carpet at the 2020 CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 11) at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The 30-year-old singer is nominated for four awards and she was originally set to perform her song “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice.
Lee ended up testing positive for coronavirus over the weekend and had to drop out of the event, so he was replaced by Lady A‘s Charles Kelley.
Luckily, the performance was pre-taped as Charles was just exposed to COVID-19 and pulled out of appearing at the event just minutes before the show was set to begin. The band announced that the performance will still air as planned.
Carly is nominated for New Artist of the Year, as well as Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year, all for “I Hope You’re Happy Now.”
“So proud to say that my mama & I styled this look together this year. What a dream night already,” Carly wrote on Instagram.
