Jennifer Lopez's AMAs 2020 Performance is Getting Compared to Beyonce's Grammys 2014 Performance
Jennifer Lopez‘s 2020 American Music Awards performance is raising some eyebrows.
The 51-year-old entertainer gave a super sultry performance with Maluma during the awards show on Sunday (November 22).
While performing “Pa’ Ti” and “Lonely” from their upcoming movie Marry Me, Jennifer rocked a black, skintight bodysuit, while sporting short, wet-looking hair.
Shortly after her performance, fans took to Twitter to compare Jennifer‘s performance to Beyonce‘s performance of “Drunk in Love” at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
For that performance with husband Jay-Z, the 39-year-old singer sported wet hair and a bodysuit very similar to Jennifer‘s look.
Jennifer and Beyonce both danced around a chair in black, blue and red lighting during their performances.
Fans then started calling out Jennifer for seemingly copying Beyonce.
“Does anyone notice that J.Lo is ripping off Beyonce on her performance at the amas,” one Twitter user tweeted.
In spite of the vague similarities, a source tells that “Jennifer pulled inspiration from her own ‘Lonely’ music video as well as Chicago‘s ‘Cell Block Tango’.” Some fans even came to Jennifer‘s defense.
“Girl… Beyonce did not invent black swimsuits and wet hair bob type look… That’s just how Jlo looks in the MV for that song. Calm down,” another fan tweeted.

Why would we need jlo if we had beyonce

You're joking, right?
If you think for 1 second that this is Beyonce's concept, you are a pop-culture illiterate. It's homage to Cell Block Tango from Chicago (the movie/play, NOT the city). It predates both JLo's and Beyonce's careers.#ResearchTHENpostWatta maroon.

Am I the only one getting Beyonce vibes from Jlo performance at the #AMAs ? Jlo is reminding me of Bey's performance at Grammy's circa 2014. #AMAs2020

it’s not just the wet bob, don’t be dense. its that as well as the outfit, stage set up and choreo that gives beyoncé 2014 grammy performance
