Queen Elizabeth's Staffer Admits To Stealing Palace Items & Selling Them on eBay

One of Queen Elizabeth‘s longtime employees has gotten into some hot water.

According to a report, Adamo Canto has admitted that he has stolen items from the Queen’s royal residence and selling them on eBay.

The catering assistant plead guilty to three counts of theft between November 2019 and August 2020 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, according to the BBC.

It’s reported that Mr. Canto had swiped a “significant quantity” of items, which police found at his quarters at the palace’s Royal Mews.

Some of the stolen items included signed official photographs of Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as a Companion of Bath medal belonging to the Master of the Household, Vice Admiral Master Tony Johnstone-Burt.

He had also stolen a royal state banquet photo album of President Donald Trump‘s visit to the U.K., which was reportedly worth $2,000.

The items he had stolen totaled between $13,000 and $135,000, and the 37 items he had listed on eBay were sold “well under” their value, and brought in $10,000.

Mr. Canto said that because of the pandemic, he gained access to offices and other areas that he usually did not frequent.

He was released on bail, but is facing a possible jail sentence.

If you missed it, the British Royal Family have made alternative plans for their Christmas holiday. See what they’ll be doing this year…
