Twitter Reveals the Most Retweeted & Most Liked Tweets of 2020

Twitter has revealed some interesting data about the biggest trends of 2020, including the tweets that received the most retweets and likes.
The social media company notes that the top tweets of the year “encapsulate the full spectrum of life in 2020: loss, contemplation, distraction, entertainment, and a dash of humor.”
The tweet that announced Chadwick Boseman‘s death was the most retweeted and most liked tweet of the year. Many of the other top tweets were about COVID-19 and BTS fans also got their idols into the top ranking.
Twitter did provided this note for the data: “We only feature one Tweet per account and we donβt consider Tweets that offer reward in exchange for followers or engagement.”
#COVID19 was the top hashtag of the year with nearly 400 million tweets using it. The third biggest hashtag was #StayHome.
