Dustin Diamond Confirms Cancer Diagnosis - Read the Official Statement

Dustin Diamond, best known for his work as Screech on Saved By the Bell, has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 44-year-old actor was hospitalized earlier this week after “feeling pain all over his body” and it was reported that a cancer diagnosis was likely.

Dustin‘s team released a statement on his Facebook page to update fans on his condition.

“At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer. Dustin will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made,” the statement said. “We ask everyone to respect Dustin’s privacy during this difficult time. All positivity and prayers are appreciated.”

Dustin‘s team also provided fans with two ways to send letters to the actor to wish him well during this difficult time.

A Saved By the Bell reboot is currently streaming on Peacock, but Dustin wasn’t invited back for the new series. He told TMZ last year, “It’s something we put so much time and effort into. How do you have Saved by the Bell without Screech? Right? I mean, it seems like there’s a missed opportunity there.”
