Sabrina Carpenter's 'Skin' Song Lyrics Seem Like a Response to Olivia Rodrigo's 'Driver's License'

Sabrina Carpenter has dropped her new song “Skin” and fans have immediately noticed that it seems to be a direct response to Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Driver’s License” song.

In case you missed it, fans came up with the theory that “Driver’s License” was written about Sabrina and her current boyfriend Joshua Bassett, who is Olivia‘s co-star in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Olivia sings in her song, “and you’re probably with that blonde girl, who always made me doubt.”

Sabrina kicks off her song by singing, “Maybe then we could pretend / There’s no gravity in the words we write / Maybe you didn’t mean it / Maybe ‘blonde’ was the only rhyme.”

Sabrina also sings in the pre-chorus, “And I’m not asking you to let it go / But you been tellin’ your side / So I’ll be telling mine.”

In the chorus, Sabrina sings, “You can try / To get under my, under my, under my skin / While hе’s on mine.” Fans think she’s saying how Olivia tried to get under her skin with the song, but Joshua is still with her.

In the song’s bridge, Sabrina sings, “Don’t drive yourself insane / It won’t always be this way.” This could be in reference to the song’s title “Driver’s License.”

Just one day ago, Olivia responded to the speculation about the song being about Joshua and Sabrina.
