Brit Captain Tom Moore, Who Raised Millions For COVID-19 Relief, Hospitalized With Coronavirus

Tom Moore, the British captain who has raised a lot of money for the NHS and COVID-19 relief, is now battling the virus himself.

The 100-year-old World War II veteran made headlines last year by raising over $40 million for the NHS as he walked 100 laps in his backyard garden in celebration of his 100th birthday.

His fame skyrocketed after that, as Tom received over 125,000 birthday cards from people all over the world.

Now, Tom is currently in the hospital as he fights the virus, his daughter, Hannah, shared on social media.

“I want to update everybody that today (Sunday 31st January) my father was admitted to the hospital,” she wrote. “Over the last few weeks he was being treated for pneumonia and last week tested positive for COVID-19.”

In July of 2020, Tom was also knighted by Queen Elizabeth, where she used the sword that belonged to her father, King George VI, and walked about eight paces to approach Tom for the ceremony.

Tom has also inspired and written a few books since his fundraising walk. His autobiography, “Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day”. is available now where ever books are sold.
