Patrick Mahomes Has a Bad Injury, Will Have Surgery After 2021 Super Bowl
Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, has a bad injury that he’s been dealing. The good news is that he is able to play through the pain and will start for the Chiefs in the 2021 Super Bowl.
According to the NFL, the 25-year-old quarterback has a toe injury called “turf toe.” According to WebMD, turf toe is “a sprain of the ligaments around the big toe joint.”
Patrick played through the injury in the AFC Championship game two weeks ago and played amazingly, throwing for 325 yards.
After the big game, he’s expected to see a foot specialist but the thought is that his injury will not heal on its own and he will need surgery.
A source told the publication, “It’s amazing how good he’s looked considering the issue.”
Patrick and his fiancee, Brittany Matthews, are expecting a baby girl very soon.
