Billy Eichner's Prediction About the Conway Family Just Came True
Billy Eichner just realized that his August 2020 prediction about Kellyanne Conway and her family has come true.
The 42-year-old comedian and The Lion King actor previously tweeted, “F–k the Conway parents forever. And I’m sure they’ll be back on a reality show or something to that effect very, very soon. Which of course was the point all along.”
Fast forward to February 2021 and 16-year-old Claudia Conway is now a contestant on American Idol. Her audition was featured during the season premiere episode that aired last night. Find out if she got a golden ticket to Hollywood right here.
Billy quote tweeted Idol‘s tweet about the audition and he included a screencap of his tweet from last year, along with the caption, “Welp.”
Claudia tweeted over the weekend, “hi also a lot of people think that my being on american idol is a publicity stunt but i can promise you it is not. i have been vocally trained and in music for most of my life and did this on my own merit :)”
Someone asked her if she’s being pressured into appearing on Idol and she replied, “i’m not at all :) this was a really amazing opportunity and i took it! it’s starting the next chapter of my life: coming into my own and creating a name for MYSELF. i’m claudia; i’m not someone’s daughter or that girl in family ‘drama.’ i’m just claudia.”

Click inside to read about the backlash that Idol is getting…
American Idol has been receiving a lot of backlash for seemingly exploiting Claudia‘s situation for a ratings grab. Read what some people are saying below.
Claudia Conway’s appearance on “American Idol” — the worst sort of exploitation of a minor that reality TV has done in memory — ought to prompt real soul-searching among ABC executives. My column: https://t.co/OWm8HZWdlE

i feel like the whole "claudia conway on american idol" arc might be rock bottom for us as a society

“The first thing that feels jarringly wrong about this is the degree to which a child at the center of a dispute that has bled into public view is being asked to launder the reputations of two adults who should know better.” https://t.co/49zUsdpjDz

Last night's American Idol was taped in November. The Conways knew she had her ticket to Hollywood. It was AFTER this that Claudia releases tapes of Kellyanne's vicious abuse, the topless photo, the police coming to the house, and George signed a TV contract at MSNBC for himself. https://t.co/suAExilWJQ

Katy Perry saying “honey, you’re not going to DC, you’re going to Hollywood!” to Claudia Conway on American Idol at the conclusion of her audition is almost dystopian at this point

American Idol is gross for allowing an abusive creature like Kellyanne Conway to rehab her image on the show, and using Claudia Conway's pain to make a quick buck.
Disgusting.

Claudia Conway is 16 years-old and at the center of an abusive family situation playing out very publicly. Let's not pretend ABC and American Idol aren't exploiting this. They're commodifying the unresolved trauma of a child. It's really gross. That's all there is to it.
