Sarah Michelle Gellar Reveals If She Would Ever Do a 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Reboot

Sarah Michelle Gellar is officially done with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In a new interview on Mario Lopez‘s podcast, the 43-year-old actress said that she has no plans on ever returning for a possible reboot.

“What worked for Buffy was that the monsters represented, they were a metaphor for the horrors of adolescence,” Sarah shared in the interview.

“I don’t think it’s me, I don’t think I should be the one doing it,” Sarah said, adding that she’s “way too tired and cranky to put in that work again.”

Also in the interview, Sarah said that she’s glad that Buffy is still popular with fans all these years later, saying that she loves “that the story holds up, and that people are calling for that.”

Sarah‘s comments come after fellow Buffy actress Charisma Carpenter came forward with allegations of abuse and misconduct against show creator Joss Whedon.

After Charisma went public, Sarah issued a statement in support of her former co-star.

“I am more focused on raising my family and surviving a pandemic currently, so I will not be making any further statements at this time,” Sarah told Mario in her new interview. “But I stand with all survivors of abuse and am proud of them for speaking out.”

Find out more about Charisma Carpenter‘s allegations. Here’s what another Buffy co-star just said about the claims.
