Queen Elizabeth Won't Stay Up to Watch Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Oprah Winfrey Interview (Report)

Don’t expect Queen Elizabeth II to provide any immediate commentary on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey when it airs later tonight (March 7).

The 94-year-old queen will not be staying up to watch the interview, and will instead get a briefing at breakfast on Monday (March 8), via Page Six.

Buckingham Palace aides have an online feed to watch it when it airs in the United States on CBS at 8 p.m., or 1 a.m. in the UK, but sources told The Times of London she will not “stay up and watch the interview.”

“What should Monday really be about? Children going back to school, the effectiveness of the vaccine program — these are the big issues the royal family wants to focus on, not news about the circus that is Oprah and all things Sussex,” a source told the outlet.

The Royal Family believes Meghan and Harry are undermining the work of the monarchy, leaving the Queen feeling “cheesed off,” the source added.

“The mood in the family is: can everyone just shut the hell up and can we just get on with the day job,” a senior source told the paper.

“They are playing with fire, it’s very high stakes because there’s a lot that could come out in the wash that hasn’t been told,” a source said of the royal couple to the UK Times.

If you missed it, Meghan Markle is making a big accusation about the royal family.

A bunch of stars have come out to defend Meghan‘s character before the interview – find out who’s speaking out.
