Chrissy Teigen Reveals She Accidentally Offended Katy Perry & One of Her Songs

Oops!

Chrissy Teigen is revealing how she recently offended Katy Perry and her song “Firework” during a recent run-in.

The 35-year-old cookbook author stopped by The Tonight Show for a virtual interview airing on Tuesday night (March 9) where she chatted with Jimmy Fallon about supporting John Legend when he performed at in Washington, D.C. after Joe Biden‘s Inauguration back in January.

While she was at the event, Chrissy said that she ran into Katy right after she performed “Firework” during fireworks display to end the night’s festivities. Chrissy said she tried to give Katy a compliment, but Katy may have heard the wrong thing.

“I remember I was so scared because we ran into Katy Perry after, and I always say dumb things,” Chrissy recalled. “I always get so nervous, and I say faux pas, and then I hadn’t seen Katy for so long.”

Chrissy continued, “I was like, ‘Oh, I typically hate fireworks, but that was like amazing, that was beautiful.’ And then I think she heard that I said I hate ‘Firework,’ like the song.”

Immediately after she said, Chrissy realized she messed up and should have been clearer.

“I wanted to die, I felt so bad,” Chrissy said. “‘No, no, no, not ‘Firework.” I always do that.”
