Demi Lovato Reveals How Her 2018 Overdose Led to Her Sobriety

Demi Lovato is opening up about her addiction struggles.

In a clip for her interview with CBS This Morning, the 28-year-old “Sorry Not Sorry” singer got candid about her 2018 drug overdose.

“The doctors told me that I had five to 10 minutes, if no one had found me then I wouldn’t be here,” Demi said. “And I am grateful that I am sitting here today. Yeah.”

Host Tracey Smith reminded Demi that they had “a similar conversation” when she interviewed Demi in 2016.

“I was probably 24 when we did the interview, so we are doing this interview, I am in recovery from a bunch of things and I have been sober for however many years but I am still miserable,” Demi shared.

“For the first time in my life,” she continued. “I had to essentially die to wake up.”

The full interview will air on on Sunday, March 21. Demi‘s documentary, Dancing with the Devil, will premiere on Tuesday, March 23.

Demi recently spoke out about her relationship with weed and alcohol following her overdose.
