Nicki Minaj's Mom Files $150 Million Lawsuit Against Man Charged in Hit-and-Run Accident That Killed Her Dad

Nicki Minaj‘s mom Carol Maraj has filed a $150 million lawsuit against the man who has been charged in connection with the hit-and-run death of her father Robert Maraj.

Robert was struck during a hit-and-run accident while walking across the street on February 12 in Long Island, N.Y. and he later died from his injuries at a local hospital.

A 70-year-old man named Charles Polevich was arrested and charged with “leaving the scene of an incident causing death and with tampering with physical evidence,” according to Page Six.

Carol‘s lawyer said in a statement that “[Polevich] was not only irresponsible and negligent, but more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help. Polevich’s behavior was criminal, cowardly, and immoral. We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death!”

Police officials said last month that Polevich was “absolutely aware” of what happened during the accident.

“He got out of the car, looked at the deceased, got into his car and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialing 911 and calling an ambulance for the man. He went home and secreted his vehicle,” Nassau County Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said at a press conference.
