Helen Mirren Chased Away a Bear During Quarantine By Doing This!

Helen Mirren revealed just what she was up to during quarantine in the past year – scaring away a bear!

The 75-year-old actress shared her fun story ahead of presenting at the 2021 SAG Awards on Sunday, and opened up about while she was quarantining in Nevada, she had to chase away a bear from the property she was staying at.

“I did have a bit of a meeting with a bear,” Helen said. “I was so excited to see a bear, but then, of course, you can’t allow bears to get too familiar with human beings because they are wild animals. So I chased him away.”

“I shooed the bear away. I told him he was a naughty bear. He was a young bear so I just said, ‘No, naughty bear, go on, go on, off you go!’” she added to her story, laughing about the circumstances.

Helen also shared some tips if you’re ever in a situation similar and need to scare a bear away.

“You’re supposed to make yourself as big as possible and say, ‘Bad bear! Bad bear!’ ‘Cause it was not a big bear — it was a smaller bear — so I just said, ‘You naughty bear, go on. Go away!’”
