Eric Andre Says He Was Racially Profiled at Atlanta Airport

Eric Andre is claiming he was racially profiled at an Atlanta Airport on Wednesday (April 21).

The 38-year-old comedian and actor took to his Twitter to share his experience while he was at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport before boarding his flight.

I was just racially profiled by two plain clothes Atlanta PD police in Delta terminal T3 at the Atlanta airport. They stopped me on the way down the bridge to the plane for a ‘random’ search and asked they could search me for drugs. I told them no. Be careful,” Eric first started his series of tweets.

He then reached out to Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms about the situation.

“They let me go. I’m on the plane in the air. I’m fine now but I want this reported. Please any Atlanta lawyer reach out to me. @KeishaBottoms #racialprofiling #jimcrowgeorgia terminal T3 Atlanta airport,” Eric tweeted. “At that moment, I was the only POC on line. @KeishaBottoms I know this isn’t the PD you want representing in your airports. #racism #racialprofiling #jimcrow #racistwarondrugs @delta.”

Eric then reached out to followers asking for more information after his alleged profiling.

“Hearing it might be @DEAHQ at gate T3 racially profiling passengers and not the @Atlanta_Police does anyone have answers? @Delta @POTUS @KeishaBottoms,” Eric tweeted. “I’m hearing it’s the @DEAHQ and not @Atlanta_Police please give me answers DEA!”

Mayor Bottoms then responded to Eric, letting him know that she is looking for more information on the situation.

“Sorry to hear about your experience,” Mayor Bottoms tweeted back. “It’s my understanding that this was not APD, but another one of the many agencies working in the airport. We are working to confirm.”

Eric followed up, writing, “So glad to hear Atlanta PD doesn’t operate like this, but who was the agency that interrogated me and why does ATL allow an agency with those kinds of random search rules to operate in one of the busiest airports in the world?”

He then sent out another tweet, writing, “I did NOT volunteer to a search and I did not volunteer to talk. You guys flashed your badge and detained me with no probable cause except for racism. This is JIM CROW RACISM @ClaytonCountyPD I DID NOT VOLUNTEER TO A SEARCH. YOU ARE HARASSING ME. THIS IS RACISM! @KeishaBottoms.”

A few years ago, this reality star called out the TSA for racially profiling them at an airport.
